Craving the sea

Hello hello, long time no see.
Sorry for the long silence but I actually started to do things.
Okay yes I did watch a lot of Mike and Molly, I do love them. But I did go to the gym every day for about 1-2 hours, which I have to confess is very good for my self esteem and I started making some patterns and I also started to sew a little bit.
Well to be honest I have this beach towel which has an other fabric on one side and everybody loves it, so my boyfriend had this idea that I should start making some, the only problem is that because I want to use only good materials it doesn't come very cheap. Well at least I am trying to do something and I do love the fact that I am working from home and doing my thing, I am telling you, it does feel really good.
I am also going to start making some clothes for myself and my friends for starters.

I don't have an answer from the company I told you about but I will since they I are going to send me an email even if the results are negative.

I haven't been to the beach a lot this summer, only twice, but next Saturday I am leaving for vacation with my boyfriend. We are going to Skopelos and Pilio for two weeks. I even changed my desktop for a beach photo from Skopelos. The sea is amazing and it's a really green island which i LOVE.

I did it

I did it, I did it, I did it, I just returned from gym! Really!!! I am really happy about it and I actually enrolled into a group class which has a combination of try and crossfit. I love it! I used to do personal training and this is kind of like that because there are not many people in the class. I do feel a little bit uplifted about it.

Today I also had to get up very early in the morning so that I could drive my boyfriend to the metro station so I could use his car during the day. Yes unfortunately we have to coordinate now.
So after I dropped him off I passed by my house to see my brothers, the oldest wasn't up of course (you have to be there at around 3-4 o clock to see him) but I did have a chat with my other brother.

I came home and cleaned up the house a little bit and a friend came over to do my nails.

I also sketched a little bit today!!!

Yes really.

I feel I accomplished some things today. Maybe for some of you it sounds very easy and that I didn't do many things today. But for someone who just sits around and watches a whole tv series in a day I think I did ok today!
And I tried not to think about my unfortunate car. Which is very very difficult I have to tell you.

Anyway I have the interview tomorrow and I am trying to prepare for it. I do know a lot about the company I think but as I told you before Greece is going through a very difficult tome period right now and I think they would want to employ someone with more experience. That doesn't mean I am not going to give it my best shot of course!
Fingers crossed

This time I have news

Remember the headline I had last time? Well I have news. And it's not exactly good news. Well part of it is and part of it is not.
Firstly I had my car stolen outside my very own house. And I had many things inside, bags and books mostly but they were very important to me. One book in particular is very important to me because it's the only present my grandpa gave me. You know they always just give you money. Especially grandpas, but this was from him and I really want to find it and buy it again. As a reminder at least. It was about fashion designers (from a-w I think). I also had many notes from fashion school.
Well it happened and it was actually a brand new car. I only had it for 5 months and that pretty much has occupied my whole day.

On Sunday we voted for the referendum and the result was NO. Still we have no idea what is going to happen in the next few months but at least other European countries and the foreign media now realise that this situation can not keep up for very much longer, which is very good for us.
This past two weeks have been dreadful for the shops and restaurants.

Second important issue of the day... Remember the company I told you about last week? Well I am going back on Thursday for a second interview!! Which is of course a very good thing!

I didn't do anything else pretty much. I did go jogging but i didn't go to the gym.... Yeah yeah I know, I have to go. I am eating a lot these days and I am just sitting around so I do understand the need to do something more for myself.

I cannot seem to keep up with my promises.

No news is good news

Didn't post anything yesterday cause I was doing something all day and I can't really talk about it yet.

But today I had my first interview after I lost my job (friggin crisis), something one of my best friends didn't know about so I am waiting an angry phone call after she reads this post. Is was at a large group in Greece with many brands. It went well but you always get the feeling that they are not sure if they can trust you or not when you are 24.
I do think I can do this job and that's why I applied for it but I sure will have to learn some new things and probably remind myself of my rusty skills on illustrator, I used to be really quick and good actually.
The job is 50 minutes by car from were I live now and my boyfriend told me that he is willing to move closer to my job if we need too, so that's kind of great but we have to wait and see. It was actually weird that I had an interview this week with everything happening but my interviewer told me "Well yes I understand that and I myself think it's weird to even thing of hiring someone new in this situation but I do need someone for the position".  I am not positive nor negative, I now that he like me but I also now that I am not exactly what they are looking for since I don't have the experience the need. I hope they want to risk it, cause I now what I can do.

In other matters, Greek people are still having the time of our lives here.
Still not knowing what tomorrow may bring and still not knowing what "yes" or "no" may mean for our future. I mean we do need a real and honest answer on our questions and there no one willing to give them. Especially not our media. You only here the same everyday. And don't let me get started on what's going on on Facebook. You know how in the US they have rainbow profile pictures? In Greece we have "YES" "NO" as profile pictures, stating our political views. Everyone things that if someone states he will vote "YES" he is a rich person who doesn't have a care in the world. On the other hand "NO" is for the people who are more "liberal" and true proud Greeks who can not stand of someone else telling them what to do. Probably also someone they know has lost their job and is really struggling. That's mostly what people think of this two groups.

And before you make any assumptions, I haven't decided yet, cause I don't think it's all black and white. I still need some answers.

Off to my gym now (yes I am actually doing that today)

Crazy people all around

Last night I accidentally put my phone on silent so my goal to wake u early.... well just I will just say it didn't happen! Oh, I didn't put my alarm because well... my friends always send me morning messages and I use them as an alarm as well!! Don't judge, it's very useful.

Then I had breakfast and wanted to go out and maybe buy a book. Then I found out I had one i haven't had the chance to read yet so i started it today and it is really uplifting and romantic. It's called Three Amazing Things About You by Jill Mansell. It's really really good so I was trying to resist the urge to sit home all day long read and listen to Ed Sheeran who want's me to give him some love.

I didn't do it though and I am proud (small victory). I had to do something for my mother. My mother has a small restaurant called Petra's in down town Athens and after 2 years of running the restaurant and cooking someone from the government showed up and asked for some papers she didn't have (because she didn't know she ought to have of course, very common here). So she is supposed to so to a seminar but it was at 2 o clock, the worst hour of the day for her to leave the restaurant. I had to go to the seminar and asked for her to be excused. I have to go again on Friday and take the books she has to study to give the exam (if the exam actually happens of course, an other common thing). And of course i had to pay for the seminar.
Anyway i had to walk 5.6 kmh total, so that was really good since I still can't convince myself to go to the gym. Then I had an ice cream with my best friend... But I walked! (No idea why but I feel the need to eat something sweet every day, I have to stop that somehow)

Go to the gym. That's an other thing I have to start doing again. It's weird. As I told you yesterday I don't really have the motivation to do many thing. I used to go to the gym a lot. I love working out, it makes me feel better about myself.

Ok that's something I will do tomorrow. I promise you that I will go to the gym. Fingers crossed.

In USA all they speak about is Kim Kardashian's new baby and here all you here all day long is if we will stay at the EU or not. Actually if we are going to still Euro as our coin after this Sunday. I had to use the metro today and I actually heard a fight between a young who was against Euro and an old one who was pro Euro. Yes this happened. People are going a little bit crazy this days in Greece. There is a strong uncertainty in the air.

Anyway. This blog is kind of my way out of all of this.

See you tommorow,

Trying to get through reality

Ok this is it. I am changing some things. This blog used to be about fashion and don't get me wrong I am still very much into it. The reason I didn't update so much was because i started it when I was still studying for my degree and although that was hard, working in fashion was of course taking up all of my time.
I worked at an atelier for a little bit more that a year, which I loved but after that i wanted to try something else. So i started working for a website as a fashion editor. That was cool for a little bit and will love doing that again but with a little bit more freedom. I mean not someone else telling me exactly what to put on my article. What's the point in that right?
After that i worked for a very famous Greek Stylist and later on a greek fashion company which realised after a few months that they couldn't support my salary. So they fired me.

Here I am now reading books all day long, movies, tv shows and trying to get out of bed every morning. Because when you don't have any obligations for the day, believe me when I say you feel that there is no reason to get up and live.

Trying to find a job in the fashion industry was always very difficult, but try finding one in this economic crisis is just impossible.

So to keep me a little bit motivated I am going to use you as my therapy.

I always had a thing for trying new recipes, which of course I found on Pinterest. I am going to post here some that i have found were good because as you know there are many recipes for exactly the same thing. God (and my boyfriend) only knows how many Cinnabon recipes i have tried.

Oh! In the picture it's me and my two best friends, the middle one has just graduated and the short one (sorry) just got married, i was her maid of honor, or as we say koumpara in Greece. These two help me a lot and they keep trying to motivate me. So they deserve being in the photo :)

Polka dot all the way

You just can't go wrong with polka dots. I love them cause i'm a print kind of gal and i truly believe it's a classic. Maybe it's not exactly on this season trend list but are you gonna stay away for so long? Play it up and wear it with other prints. Yes, i'm THAT person.
